If you have brushes that have been scrubbed down to an unusable nub, you can salvage some life by cutting some of the ferrule off. A hacksaw will do. Obviously you should not cut too deep or too far back. Not all brushes will accept this type of operation but many will (This will definitely void your warranty)
This is my brush cleaning pot. Put the mesh in the bottom and fill it to half an inch above the mesh with the appropriate solvent. Scrubbing the brush on the mesh removes the paint which settles to the bottom of the pot. I usually wipe most of the paint off (gently) with a piece of paper towel before washing. Eventually paint accumulates at the bottom and everything has to be washed out. The pot has a top (not shown) to limit evaporation. It was made from parts found at home furnishing stores. This particular pot is about 4 inches in diamete.
